Google Docs
Google Docs is a free website which allows people to upload word documents presentations, spreadsheet etc. to an online account. You need to sign up to Google with a username and password and then you have access to the Google Docs page. It allows users to edit works while working together with other users. February of 2007 was when this was first introduced and since then has been growing and improving. In January of this year was the first time you could upload documents larger than 1GB.
Google Docs is a resource that can be very useful to areas such as business and news. For social, recreational and entertainment this could also be used but possibly not as frequently. Google Docs in business and news could be very useful in ways of spreading information and having people proof read or correct any mistakes there might be. This would allow people to read documents at home on a computer rather than printing them out and handwriting corrections to then be retyped. Social, entertainment and recreational use would most likely not
Google Docs is a great technology which makes group work, corporate presentations and other work easy to share between groups of people. One way that Google Docs could be abused is if a password is given out by someone who should not be seeing the document that is uploaded. That mistake might not occur often but it could be a possiblity.
