Myspace and Facebook Analysis

Facebook and Myspace

Facebook and Myspace are the two most popular online communication websites. When a Facebook or Myspace account is created, a person can upload pictures, videos, they can post on each other's “walls” and send each other messages. Facebook was created in 2004 and the amount of users is still rapidly growing today. Both these websites changed the communication online "world" dramatically and are still growing and changing.
Business purposes of Facebook and Myspace and today negatively affect someone. If a company interview you for a job spot and looks are your accounts and finds bad pictures or an unprofessional personality they will most likely not hire you. There could be good aspects as well such as setting yourself up as having professionalism and a successful person. In entertainment, recreation and news areas these websites are not very popular. Stars and celebrities never have a page for themselves and news is rarely ever posted by people. This can be an abuse for stars when people create fake webpage's for them and pretend to be the real person. Socially is the largest aspect of these websites and the main reason they are created. Myspace was the largest network used by kids from college ages to middle school, but once Facebook was created in 2004, it began to take over and become the most popular. I personally had a Myspace, but since Facebook has become popular I have never logged on my old Myspace account. Most users of Facebook started with college students connecting to the schools they were heading to and meeting people before even going to school. High school and now even middle school kids use the website as fun and a connection tool to just about anyone and everyone. I love my Facebook, but it sadly takes over my life sometimes and I am addicted to it. These sites are abused quite frequently by users. People sometimes posts threats to other people, they cyber-bully and they post inappropriate photos of themselves or somebody else. A punishment could be suspension from Facebook or MySpace or if serious enough, legal action can be taken.
